Privacy Policy
Last updated September 17, 2026
Not reviewed yet. This text is a starting draft written for Safe Haven Storage. A Pennsylvania attorney has to read and approve it before the site goes live, especially the sections on liens, default, and limits of liability.
Safe Haven Storage, 133 Fallsview Ave, York Haven, PA 17370, runs safehavenstoragefacility.com. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the site, what we do with it, who else sees it, and how you can review or change it.
This policy is posted so it can be reached from every page of the site, as California's Online Privacy Protection Act, Cal. Bus. & Prof. Code 22575 through 22579, requires. That law applies to any website that collects personal information from California residents, no matter where the business is. Pennsylvania does not have a comprehensive consumer privacy law. The California Consumer Privacy Act does not apply to us because we are far below every threshold that would trigger it.
What we collect
We collect personal information in two ways.
Information you give us. This site has two forms, the Contact form and the Waitlist form. If you fill one out, or email or call us, we collect what you send:
- your first and last name,
- your email address,
- your phone number,
- on the Waitlist form, the unit size you want and roughly when you need it, and
- anything you choose to write in the message box.
Those are all the fields the forms have. We check that an email address's domain exists so a typing mistake does not stop us from replying. We do not ask for your mailing address on this site.
Renting and reserving. When you price a unit on this site we do not ask who you are. You choose a size and a date and we show you the total. To finish a rental or a reservation you leave this site for U-Haul's own page for our facility, on uhaul.com, and you give your name, address, contact details and payment information there, to U-Haul. U-Haul's privacy policy governs that page. Once you are a customer, we see and use your rental record in WebSelfStorage to run your account, as described below.
Information collected automatically. Our web host keeps standard server logs. Those logs may include an IP address, browser type, the pages requested and the date and time. We use them to keep the site running and secure.
We do not run analytics on this site. We do not run advertising. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. This site sets no cookies of its own and stores nothing in your browser.
Other companies' content on our pages. A few parts of the site are supplied by other companies, and your browser contacts them directly when it loads those parts, which means they receive your IP address and basic browser details:
- Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to tell people from automated spam. It runs a check in your browser when a page with a form loads.
- The map on the home page and the Contact page is an embedded Google Map.
- The lettering on the site is loaded from Google Fonts.
We chose these because they do their job without us building a profile of you, and we do not receive any information about you from them beyond a pass or fail from the spam check. What those companies do with the connection is covered by their own privacy policies.
If we add analytics later, we will update this policy and change the date at the top before we turn it on.
What we do not collect
We do not collect or store credit card numbers, debit card numbers or bank account numbers on this website. Payments, online rentals and reservations are handled by WebSelfStorage, a U-Haul product, on U-Haul's own systems. When you rent, reserve, pay or set up autopay, you are giving that information to U-Haul and WebSelfStorage, not to this website. The site is built to have no field that could take a card number. Their handling of your information is governed by their own privacy policy, and we encourage you to read it.
We do not knowingly collect information from children.
How we use your information
We use what you give us to:
- answer your question or return your call,
- set up and manage your rental,
- send bills, receipts and required legal notices,
- keep records we are required to keep, and
- protect the facility and enforce our rental agreement.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent it. We do not trade it.
Who else sees it
We share personal information with a small number of companies that help us run the business, and with authorities when the law requires it. The categories are:
- Our property management and payment company. WebSelfStorage and U-Haul, which run our rentals, billing and payment processing.
- Our website host and form service. Netlify hosts the site, receives what you send through the Contact and Waitlist forms, and emails it to us.
- Cloudflare and Google, to the limited extent described under "Other companies' content on our pages" above.
- Our email provider, which carries our messages to you.
- Professional advisors. Our accountant, our insurance agent and our attorney, when there is a reason.
- Law enforcement, courts and government agencies. When we are required by law, a subpoena or a court order, or when we need to protect people or property.
- A buyer of the business. If the business is ever sold or transferred, customer records would go with it.
How we communicate with you
We contact customers by phone and by email only. We do not send text messages.
You can ask us to stop sending marketing email at any time by replying to any message or emailing support@safehavenstoragefacility.com. We will still send you messages we have to send about your rental, such as bills, receipts and legal notices.
Do Not Track
Some browsers can send a "Do Not Track" signal. There is no common industry standard for what a website should do when it receives one. Our site does not track visitors across other websites over time, so there is nothing for us to stop doing, and we do not respond to Do Not Track signals in any special way.
Third party tracking across sites
We have no advertising networks, analytics providers or social media trackers on the site, and we do not invite any company to follow you from our site to others. The embedded Google Map, Google Fonts and the Cloudflare spam check described above are loaded from those companies, and we cannot speak for what they do on their side. If what we put on the site changes, we will update this policy and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
How to review or change your information
You can ask us what personal information we have about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Call 717-364-7252 or email support@safehavenstoragefacility.com. Tell us what you are asking for and give us enough detail to find your record. We will respond as quickly as we can. within 30 days
We may need to keep some information even after a request, for example records we are required to keep for tax, accounting or lien purposes, or information we need to enforce a rental agreement.
If the information you want to change lives in your U-Haul or WebSelfStorage account, you can often update it yourself by signing in. If you cannot, call us and we will help.
How we protect your information
We use reasonable measures to protect the information we hold. No website or system is perfectly secure, so we cannot promise that a transmission over the internet is completely safe.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we will post the new version on this page and change the "Last updated" date at the top. If a change is significant, we will say so at the top of the page.
We encourage you to check this page from time to time.
